These light puff pastry ring-shaped are an excellent accompaniment when dipped in hot chocolate or simply eaten on their own.
In the past, Church goers after mass in Bovolone would visit ‘Cafe Perbellini’, where they would find the tables set with plates of these round puff pastries. Hot chocolate would then be served by the waiters as an accompaniment. The Sfogliatine had to be cut in half (to fit in the cup), and then dipped and eaten quickly so they would not become too soft. This tradition has now disappeared, but you could start your own by visiting one of our shops and taking a bag of these delights home. Perbellini also sell their own blend of hot chocolate mix.
